PrimeUI Community License

This license governs your use of PrimeUI software under the Community License (“the Software”). PrimeTek Informatics (“PrimeTek”) owns the Software and grants eligible users a free license under the terms below. By registering for or using a Community License, you confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria and agree to these terms.

Eligibility

The Community License is available to individuals and to small organizations.

Individuals qualify without further conditions. This includes individual developers and students working on their own projects.

Organizations qualify only if they meet all of the following criteria:

• Fewer than 5 developers
• Fewer than 10 total employees
• Less than $1 million USD in annual gross revenue, or annual budget for non-profit organizations
• Have never received more than $3 million USD in capital from an outside source such as private equity or venture capital
• Not a public-sector body, government or government-funded organization, university, or other educational institution

These criteria apply to all organizations, including non-profits. Non-profit status on its own does not confer eligibility.

Revenue and funding aggregation: There are no exceptions when determining gross annual revenue or budget. If your organization is controlled by another organization, the controlling organization must also meet the revenue requirement, aggregating all entities it owns or controls.

Who Needs a License

The Community License is licensed per developer, with a maximum of 4 developer seats per organization. A seat is required for each developer who works directly with the PrimeUI components in development, that is, anyone who writes, modifies, or maintains code that uses the PrimeUI libraries.

Seats are not tied to named individuals. You may reassign a seat to a different developer at any time, for example when someone leaves or moves off the project. Assigning developers by name at the PrimeUI Store is optional and offered only as a convenience for managing your team. A seat may not, however, be shared between multiple active developers at the same time; each developer building with the PrimeUI components concurrently needs their own seat.

Team members who do not work with the PrimeUI components do not need a seat. This typically includes back-end developers, QA and test engineers, designers, DevOps, and project managers who never write code against the PrimeUI libraries. Seats are counted by who actually builds with the components, not by the total size of your team.

If your organization builds an internal wrapper, design system, or abstraction layer on top of PrimeUI, developers who build applications on that layer do need a seat, because the wrapper contains PrimeUI and building on it is building with PrimeUI. The abstraction layer does not remove the licensing requirement.

Seats are for human developers, not machines. Continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, build servers, and other automated environments do not require their own seat. A licensed developer’s work may be built by any number of automated pipelines without additional licensing. Because license verification is performed entirely offline with no network connection, it works without issue in CI/CD, containerized, and air-gapped build environments.

The 4-seat limit reflects the eligibility requirement of fewer than 5 developers. If your organization needs a 5th developer seat, you have exceeded the Community eligibility threshold and must obtain a Commercial License.

Open Source Projects

PrimeUI does not include a separate open source program. Open source projects are welcome to use the MIT-licensed versions of our libraries (PrimeNG 21, PrimeVue 4, PrimeReact 10, and earlier), which are free, fully open source, and permit unrestricted open source use, redistribution, and self-hosted deployment.

Your License

PrimeTek grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use the Software while you remain eligible, subject to these terms.

1. The Community License provides the same core library features as the Commercial License. It is not a limited or stripped-down version.
2. A licensed developer may build an unlimited number of applications with the Software.
3. There are no royalties, runtime fees, or per-deployment charges.
4. You may use the Software for commercial projects and may sell the applications you build. Eligibility is based on your size, revenue, and funding, not on what you build.

Term and Renewal

Community Licenses are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

You may renew at no cost by re-confirming your continued eligibility. A 30-day grace period is provided after expiration. Because Community eligibility can change over time, Community license keys require annual renewal to confirm you still meet the criteria.

• MCP Server for AI Agents
• Community support through our public Forum and Discord, and access to public changelogs and known issues

The Community License does not include PrimeUI Pro components, PrimeBlocks, Theme Designer, or Premium Support. These are available separately or through a Commercial License.

What You Can Do

• Build unlimited commercial and non-commercial applications.
• Sell the applications you build and distribute them to unlimited end users.
• Build SaaS products, internal tools, client projects, and commercial software.
• Modify, configure, and extend the Software within your applications.
• Add up to 4 developer seats within your organization.

What You Cannot Do

• Exceed the seat or eligibility limits. You may not use more than your licensed number of developer seats, and you must stop using the Community License if your organization no longer meets the eligibility criteria.
• Redistribute the Software for others’ development. You may not distribute the Software, in source or component form, so that your customers or end users can build their own applications with it. This requires an OEM License.
• Redistribute the Software on its own. You may not make the Software available as-is, bundled, or with superficial modifications, for others to use as a component library or development tool.
• Reverse-engineer the Software. You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the compiled packages.
• Remove license mechanisms. You may not circumvent, disable, or tamper with the license verification system or any license notices.
• Misrepresent eligibility. Registering for a Community License while knowingly ineligible is a violation of these terms and voids the license.

When You Exceed the Thresholds

If your organization grows beyond any eligibility threshold (for example, you add a 5th developer, exceed $1M in revenue, reach 10 employees, or become government or taxpayer-funded), you must obtain a Commercial License to continue using the Software.

There is no penalty and no retroactive charge. You simply purchase a Commercial License when your organization crosses the threshold. We encourage you to upgrade promptly to remain compliant.

Eligibility Verification

Registration is self-service and based on your confirmation of eligibility. PrimeTek reserves the right to request reasonable verification of your eligibility. Providing false information to obtain a Community License is a violation of these terms and constitutes unlicensed use of the Software.

Distribution and License Keys

Community versions of the Software are distributed as compiled packages. License verification is performed offline, with no remote connection, telemetry, or phone-home requirement.

The license key may appear in your application bundle and contains no sensitive data, so it needs no special protection. You may not, however, publicly publish or distribute your key for others to use to avoid their own license. A missing, invalid, or expired license key may cause the Software to display a license notice.

Ownership

PrimeTek Informatics retains all ownership and intellectual property rights in the Software. This license grants you the right to use the Software as described and does not transfer ownership. You retain full ownership of the applications you build with the Software.

Termination

This license terminates automatically if you cease to meet the eligibility criteria and do not obtain a Commercial License, or if you breach these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software in new development until you obtain an appropriate license.

Modification of Terms

PrimeTek may modify these terms at any time. Changes apply to continued use after the revised terms are published. We make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes, but you are responsible for reviewing the terms periodically.

Modifications do not affect your right to use versions of the Software you have already received while eligible. Future updates and services are governed by the terms in effect at that time.
